Weekly Review: February is Upon Us
This week bred a few alterations of opinion by yours truly. After a hectic Monday (on which I did very little) and a beautiful, sunny Tuesday (on which I left), Wednesday was spent writing pretty much all day, and yesterday once again spent doing….nothing. So, I’m working through some new ideas to streamline what it is I actually do into a day or two and not feeling so damn bad about being a lazy bastard the rest of the week (unless actual work comes up).
Associated Content continues to pay for my quick thoughts and observations in short articles, the best place around to make some extra cash at the moment. While Helium surprised me by putting one my articles on the front page where it made a whopping $1 in one day. At least I’m seeing growth on those accounts.
On Constant-Content, a site I almost gave up on because of my lack of confidence and the fact that they actually read all of my articles and rejected a couple of them because I forgot to proofread, I sold something, for almost $10…and it wasn’t a great piece.
The Daytipper saga (if you must deign to call it that) slugged on. I received multiple correspondences with the owner of the site in which he made clear that they are not scamming anyone. A day or two later I got my first $3 from them for a tip published. Slightly disorganized? maybe. Disingenuous? I’ve changed my answer to no, and I’ve apologized for saying so in the first place.
American Idol still sucks, and if it keeps sucking drying the waters of what little cultural respectability we have left in this country, pop stars might start dying of dehydration.
I started my respect list – somewhere for me to point out people I actually like rather than dislike and places for you to go and find their books.
I upgraded to Windows Vista and in the process spent more time reinstalling software and copying files than writing anything (other than my complaints about reinstalling software)
Here’s hoping for another long and productive week spent doing all those productive things that I do. If not, here’s hoping I can pay my rent.
